We are putting together a little effort involving the creation of a video 
game.  But it sounds like we have some real gung ho people and then some 
people who have faded away into the darkness.  I think the whole idea behind 
this was so that more experienced people could help less experienced people 
get graphics to the screen, make some noises, etc.....  I too had lost sight 
of the real goal here.  I think a big reason why no one is giving game ideas 
is because the people who have posted an idea scared away some of the lesser 
experienced people who just want to make a Pac Man or Galaga type game.  With 
the list size as it is we should get to or three people to lead a little group 
of people and make three or four small games.  When this is done and peoples 
confidence levels are up then try to work on a larger game.  I still have the 
list of everyone that signed up and haven't heard but maybe two of you discuss 
anything on the game idea.  We shouldn't set a deadline yet because something 
like this isn't easy and some people need reassurance.  Again this is a 
teaching experience.  It is a chance for some of us who know more than others 
to help the not so experienced people get some experience.  I don't want this 
to fail because this is the most activity this list has had since I signed up.
 It would be a shame for us not to do this right.  Also there are people 
posting that I had no idea were going to help on this.  Did these people miss 
the multiple sign up messages that were posted.  Maybe I am just seeing 
things. Before we move on and set dates we really need to get everyone who 
signed up to give their opinion and what style of game or anything the want to 
do.  From how do you get DX8 initialized to what are good coding guidlines or 
something like that.  Remember we need to be teaching here.  Only after can we 
step it up to a large scale application.  About the RTS and RPG it is just to 
large of a project for someone with no experience at all to accomplish.  
Please would the people who signed up comment on this and the people who 
haven't signed up please sign up so that at least I am not wondering who the 
hell is posting.
