Beginners advice, please

Thanks Derold and Harri for the response.  My boy is 8 years old.  He is artistic and has already drawn and sketched out on paper several simple computer games involving shooting things, catching things, etc.  I have a new computer with a 933 processor and Windows ME.  Is QBasic sitting there in Windows?  What else will I need?

How old is your son?

 

As for a real basic language I would suggest QBasic, its free with windows based systems.  However if he is in his teen+ I'd recommend a C++ compiler.

Hello, list.

I think I landed on the wrong list.  If so, I will remove myself so as to not get in your way.  Could someone help me with my question?  My eight year old needs a very simple program for designing his own computer game.  Can you point me in the right direction?  I am afraid this list is too advanced for us.
