Help with multiple windows

I'm creating a landscape generator application and I'm having trouble opening the rendering window.  I can't figure out how to have my main application open an OpenGL window for me to render the terrain in.  What do I have to do to have multiple windows in my program.  I'm using visual c also.  Thanks.
