[Date Prev][Date Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next][Date Index][Thread Index] SV: Okej, here is GameX idea.
A 3D role playing game is good to! Maybe i was a long time into the future... We dont have a dollar to work on so... To make a SWAT game you need motion capture etc... But we all need some fantasy? But i like that about the 2D game. A cind of roleplaying game... Were you walk around in the future and do some things... Riddels and so on :) ? I may sound crazy aout but... But... I make my self games in my own laque... I make my own PC`s to... I call the Shamigas.... Just like Amigas.... The PC`s i have made look like normal PC`s but are more expensive and faster... It uses around 26 sec. to enter the OS. I took the time on my machine (not this)... So... I may think long into the future? Arent we alloved? Im not mad at all, it may hear like that... But im from Norway... So?! Swords, vikings, blood and so on.... Mvh. Mads Østebøvik Epost: ruffen@kosegutt.com MOB: 99462530 ICQ: * I can answer your questions at InfoRocket.com. Exactly, simple and easy todo is what i want us to start with. Not as simple as a "hello world". I think we all have gone pass that stage in our programming. And we can't jump inte next Quake IV experience, because we will drown the project befor we started it. And defenitivt not a game that Mads suggests. A swat game can be fun to play, but a hell to program. And we are not sitting in a game- house having meetings every monday morning where we decide our goals for the week. I think that most of us agree when i say that some or all of us have a dream to make a certain game, just like they fancy. I myself want to be able to make a 1 person view action/RPG with some roleplaying and monsterbashing parts in it. But Hey, i am no star programmer, i donät have hundred thousand dollar in my back and programhouse experince. I will never be able to make my dream game. I do know that i can learn how to make it, and that is bit by bit. Not jumping into making the best 3D engine i can imagine.Hell, i can't even draw graphics for the skins. We should do a spaceinvader, pacman or pong. These are the holy games we all should be able to say "I have made my own pacman, and it is better than the originale". The graphic gaming industy started with these games, according to me :). Sure there was others before that. Some text based adventuregames, simpel CGA 16 color graphics games that harldy could be called a game. more like shuffling data from one part of memory to another memory segment. Ok, lets goto the issue again. T be able to somewhat coordinate the efforts we do, i think we need a website that we can save our work and allows others to download files along our progress. We shoul send in well documented sourcecodes, graphics and sound for the game(s). If gameprogrammer allow us to extract the specific topic about the game and use it like a diary on that site would be neat to. Otherwice the webmaster could simply extract the text from the e-mails and make a diary of it. As i told you all befor i am the worst candidate to be the pack leader. Consider me the sponge you squese for ideas :) /Harri ====================== The GameProgrammer.Com mailing list is for the open discussion of any topic related to the art, science, and business of programming games.
