[Date Prev][Date Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next][Date Index][Thread Index] Windows 3.x question + Borland C++ 5.5.1
Hey guys, Sorry to bug you all about an old operating system like this. But I'm trying to learn a little more about Windows, and thought I'd go back to a 'simpler' version of Windows and start there. I'm looking for a compiler (not neccesarily C, Pascal will also do fine) for Windows 3.x. I'm looking for a free, small download (anyways, I doubt that anybody makes commercial compilers for Windows 3.x anymore). It doesn't have to be the greatest compiler in the world, as long as it works, I won't use it for the rest of my life :-). And I have another problem with Windows 95, I'm using Borland C++ 5.5.1, and if I try to compile ANY code, most of which worked before, I get a message that says 'Internal compiler error'. My compiler is correctly installed, since it worked about 3 weeks ago, and I didn't even touch it! And one more funny thing -- I tried re-installing it, into another directory (so it won't erase the previous one, just in case), and, even though I had 200MB free space, it told me that I need an additional 50MB space, I never checked the installation size before, but I really doubt that a 200MB+ compiler can fit into an 8MB download! Any ideas on any of these?
