I've had this problem once before.  I ended up having to format and
reinstall windows.  Both times this has happened, the BIOS RAM count
occassionally reports I only have 50% of the actual RAM.  Both times this
has happened, it's been at the same time that a friend has brought his
computer over and set it up next to mine.  I haven't had any problems so far
this evening, but I just booted up about 10 minutes ago.
