Yes it is, barring a crash or a power outtage.

But in NT you have to police your memmory, unless system degradation and drag is what you want.

 

 

Just another thought on the subject:

    I know of one system where they didn't even turn the system off to change hardware, they simply redirected with software while making the change.

       I don't recommend trying this at home however.
