This may be stubborn of me, but I always refuse to believe there isn't
an easier way.  That maxim has got me some good results in the past.

I do, however, resign myself to using algorithms etc. which I think could
be improved upon if I can't find a better solution in time, this may or
may not be one of those times, because I do have quite a while to scout
around as it's in my own time.

Thanx everyone for mailing me about this - now I'll go away and ponder
over all the code Iv'e been sent, if I can find it in my mail dir., and
hopefully come back to you all in a few months time with a game engine to
beta test!
