No, I also didn't know you needed one to be a game programmer.

Well... I had the RPG right away, but RTS had me thinking for a few seconds.

Maybe the asker is new to programming and the responding persion is
considerate
of the fact that nobody else was able to answer the question. There is
nothing wrong
with being nice to people.

I've spend all day on an _asm & MMX routine that does alpha blending in
DirectDraw. I'm sure that I'm going to have to spend even more time on it
considering the looks of it.

No, I didn't. As a matter of fact, I dropped out of school when I was 16.
Went back to school at 20, did VWO for which I studied 5 years but before
graduation I took a job in IT. Can you blame me ? I'm not sure what the
schooling system is where you live, but over here in the Netherlands VWO is
the only highschool that wil allow you to go to study at an university
afterwards.

Good, you should be ;=)

Ah, I do agree on that point. Let's see... we'll say STFW from now on... LOL

I worked as a professional programmer for 4 years. It was an internet
related company I worked for. Half a year ago I started my own company to
work on games. There is no game development company in Holland so unless I
wanted to move to the UK or US, I just had to start my own. But while
developing I gotta eat also, so therefore I take on 'regular' development
projects.

Yes, I've been working on a DirectX screensaver library for the last couple
of months, I'm currently working on add Direct3D features to it. Besides
that, I'm working with another company that does 3D design on a multiplayer
internet game.
