You really don't have to have degree from Software engineering or Computer
Science to be able to program computer games I bet that not even 50% of
those who are programming games in big companies have got any. Remember that
the education system varies from country to country so for example you can't
compare finland and america and let's say russia.

Well I'm so sorry but I'm not englishman and didn't remember english
abbreviation (or is it called an acronym) of Real Time Strategy (In here the
the more common abbreviation is RTWS (W is for War) (BTW it also means
ReTurn from Stack in 6502 ASM) And word RPG is used with very different
games for example compare following group of games:
Diablo
Zelda 1
Zelda 2
Zelda: Ocarina of Time
Old AD&D games on PCs Commodores and Spectrums
Final Fantasy 1-8
Final Fantasy Tactics (Or any game by Quest for example Ogre battle)
PC dungeon crawlers like Eye of the Beholder
They are all RPGs and they are very different from each other. If you
haven't heard of some of those games what kind of Gameprogrammer are you
then?
And RTS is only used by some English game magazines and a few game news
websites but I mostly read Finnish magazines and I stick to one gaming news
web site.

Everyone aren't so wise and great as you are so for a beginner programmer
may have to think few hours for a problem which you can solve in 5 minutes
(I have added the ad from GP mailinglist at the end of file read it to
understand more what is this list for)

Read reply to first question particulary the part about education system.
